Our History

Our Family Origins

Rooted in a family farming tradition, Domaine Les Farrères, led by Michel Deixonne in Vinça, Pyrénées-Orientales, embodies authenticity and respect for the land.

The origins of the estate date back to the post-war period when Michel's grandfather planted the first peach trees in the region, giving birth to Le Cabanon des Pêches.
This deep connection to the land marked the beginning of an adventure where expertise and passion have been passed down from generation to generation.

The transition

The year 1956 remains etched in the memory of French farmers. In the Pyrénées-Orientales, a devastating frost forever altered the agricultural landscape.
Only the olive trees of Domaine Les Farrères, located on sun-drenched slopes, withstood the frost, becoming a symbol of the Deixonne family's resilience. Committed to preserving this tradition, they have continued cultivating olive trees to produce high-quality olive oil.

A Return to Our Roots

Robert Deixonne, Michel's father, temporarily left Vinça, but the beauty of the Catalan terroir quickly brought him back to his roots.
Upon taking over the estate, he expanded olive cultivation by introducing peach and nectarine trees.
This return to roots and deep love for nature have undoubtedly become the core values of the estate.

Michel Deixonne, the Legacy Continues

In 1987, Michel Deixonne officially took over Domaine Les Farrères. After completing his agricultural studies, he introduced new ideas while preserving long-standing traditions.
By modernizing production, Michel enhanced the cultivation of olive and walnut trees, strengthening the estate’s commitment to ever greater quality and respect for its terroir.
